The romantic cliffside wedding of Ally & Charlie

Why did you choose to get married at the location that you did?
Charlie grew up in Kittery just a few miles south of the Cliff House, so the seacoast is in his blood. Ally grew up in Massachusetts but her family always travelled to the Wells, Maine area for vacations. Ally’s parents and grandparents would visit the Cliff House for anniversary weekends and special events, so Ally’s mom recommended we check out the newly renovated resort as a possible wedding venue. Since it was seaside and local, we knew we would like it, but were blown away by how amazing it is there now. We toured the Cliff House in hard hats and closed-toed shoes the first time and knew we needed to get married there. The ballroom tied with the breathtaking cliffs against the ocean made it our #1 choice.

Were there any happy surprises that happened at the wedding?
THE WEATHER! the crazy stormy morning turned out to be the most beautiful moody/foggy/classic Maine weather….the weather I crossed my fingers and dreamed of since day 1. I was so happy!! Other than that, we can’t think of any suprises…but seeing everything come together in one place; our cake (our chocolate pups), our guests holding our signature drinks, dancing to the band….the flowers! Everything that came together so beautifully was a very very happy feeling.

What moment sticks out to you above all of the others from the wedding?
Our first dance, first look, reading each other’s notes, and our vows.

Now that the wedding is over, what are you going to do with all of your free time?!
Living simply and relaxed…we will ski in the winter, read books, play with the pups, have fires, all the good cozy things but also adventure things. Also, learning 500 ways to eat rice and beans (just kidding but really it will be nice to save a bit of cash!)
