The modern Maine barn wedding of Claude & Ian

How did you two meet?
Claude and I met on our very first day of business school! In a class size of around1000, we sat next to each other on the first day of orientation after she asked if she could eat breakfast with me.

Why did you choose to get married at the location that you did?
We knew that we wanted to be married outdoors at a venue with a great barn to dance in. We have some family and emotional ties to Maine. When we saw how gorgeous Flanagan Farm was, we knew our search was over.

Were there any happy surprises that happened at the wedding?
Honestly, the weather! It downpoured on Thursday and there was a tropical storm on Sunday that cancelled flights. But it was perfect on Friday and Saturday night when we needed some luck.

What moment sticks out to you above all of the others from the wedding? The speeches from Claude’s parents were so poignant. We were so happy they were able to get over the border from Canada to celebrate with us (it was a bit touch and go with COVID for a while!)

Now that the wedding is over, what are you going to do with all of your free time?!
Decorate our home! We have not spent any time buying furniture or setting up our house over the last few months when wedding planning has taken all of our time/wallet share.
