Alexandra & Adam | A Picturesque Portland Celebration

How did you two meet?
From two of our friends randomly meeting at Beacon Hill Pub in 2009. We partied through the whole rest of the weekend and were best friends immediately. Over time, we became more than that.

Why did you choose to get married at the location that you did?
The Eastern Promenade is so special to us for many reasons – it’s the location of our first serious “talk” about our future together and the family and values we wanted to instill in our children. Maine is our favorite place in the world, and the place that we come to for respite out of the city. To us, it’s truly “Vacationland,” but also feels like Home.

Were there any happy surprises that happened?
Looking back on it, I will forever fondly remember being stuck in an elevator for 30 minutes on my wedding day with two of my most FAVORITE vendors! I cannot believe that you & Courtney were able to keep me calm. Just goes to show you, be sure to absolutely ADORE someone before you hire them for such a special day! You never know what kind of pickle you might find yourself in!

What moment sticks out to you above all of the others?
Reading my vows to Adam and watching Adam’s grandpa deliver our ceremony. We wanted it to feel light and happy, and I think we delivered. Our whole day was about family – our bridal party was filled with our sisters and brothers, and the patriarch officiated. We wanted to be sure that everyone on the Eastern Promenade felt the Love. I consider it a success.

Now that the wedding is over, what are you going to do with all of your free time?!Adam & I are headed to surf right now on Higgins Beach! At the end of August we are going to the Amalfi Coast for the real honeymoon: Sorrento, Capri, Positano & Rome! And then just back to the grind in Boston.. and eight more weddings ahead of us this summer! It’s so exciting – we can’t WAIT to be wedding guests!!

Kaela & Ryan | An Intimate Maine Elopement

The intimate Maine elopement of Kaela & Ryan

How did you two meet?
Ryan saw me at the gym and just had to meet me so he asked his brother who I was, found me on Facebook and messaged me!

Why did you choose to get married at the location that you did?
We love Wells! We’ve been vacationing there for the past four years together and I have vacationed there my whole life. We went to Laudholm one weekend in January to check it out before our weekend getaway in Portland and then Ryan proposed! After that we knew we wanted to get married there! We love that we can come back to the spot where those two special moments in our life happened.

Were there any happy surprises that happened?
Ryan surprised me with beautiful diamond earrings, my dad brought me some pretty peonies and my mom made me “something blue” out of an old dress we both wore with my new initials and some pendants from my childhood.

What moment sticks out to you above all of the others?
Eating ice cream and our vows. Sorry! Can’t pick just one!

Now that the wedding is over, what are you going to do with all of your free time?!
Eat a lot more ice cream! We are picking up a new hobby! We’re going to start hiking new trails around us each weekend to spend some quality time together unplugged!
