Jill & Tucker | Marriage during COVID

The celebration of Jill & Tucker | a marriage during COVID spanning 2 years

We had the pleasure of getting to know Jill & Tucker over the course of 3 years. They had originally planned a 2020 wedding celebration, but COVID changed their plans for their larger celebration… not just once, not even twice, but three times.

They had a small family gathering on their original wedding date, June 27, 2020, where they signed the Ketubah, exchanged vows, and were officially pronounced husband & wife. They had planned on hosting their larger reception for extended friends & family in the spring of 2021, but decided to reschedule until the summer once things on the COVID front seemed more certain. The wait was well worth it, because the party and weather were flawless!

We can’t thank Jill & Tucker enough for their grace, patience, ability to roll with the punches, and understanding throughout the entire process. Planning a wedding through a pandemic is no easy feat– if these tow can weather the storms that 2020 & 2021 brought, then they can handle anything!

Christine & Dan | A Nonantum Resort Wedding in Kennebunkport

The Nonantum Resort Wedding Celebration of Christine & Dan

How did you two meet? Dan and I both attended Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts. We were set up by our friend Ryan! We went bowling with a large group of friends and of course, Dan and I were placed on the same team. Dan got my number at the end of the night, and the rest is history!

Why did you choose to get married at the location that you did? I grew up in
southern Maine and have always felt a special connection to this area. Dan and I both love the beach and the ocean. When looking at venues, we loved that Nonantum had everything that we were looking for – a coastal atmosphere, a location for both the ceremony and the reception without travel, beautiful accommodations, and nearby shops and restaurants for guests to make a weekend trip out of our wedding! With many guests traveling from outside of Maine, Kennebunkport was perfect for us because the town has that classic coastal Maine feeling to it without asking guests to travel hours upon hours away from home.

Were there any happy surprises that happened at the wedding? The dance floor was absolutely packed!! I knew the younger crowd would be out there the whole time, but even my almost 90-year-old grandmother was dancing for quite some time. The glow sticks were a big hit and got people moving! In addition, it was really cool to see people who had never met before from all different parts of our lives talking with each other, smiling, laughing, and hugging.

What moment sticks out to you above all of the others from the wedding? This is a
tough question, but probably the moment that sticks out the most is our last song: Closing Time. All of our guests stood in a big circle on the dance floor around Dan and I dancing in the middle. Everyone had their arms around each other, singing and swaying back and forth. Our DJ shared with us that we certainly have some really special people in our lives because he has worked several weddings and rarely sees a group of people come together at the end of the night in the way that our group did.

Now that the wedding is over, what are you going to do with all of your free time?!
Continue going to local breweries, beach trips, hang outs with our close
friends, and visits with family!
