The weekend wedding celebration of Emily & Chris at The Colony.

How did you two meet?
One of Emily’s college roommates is from the same town as Chris.  Emily came to visit during her winter break of junior year of college and met Chris when they went out to the local bar.  They were so inseparable from the first night that Emily ended up staying in New York 3 extra days to spend more time with Chris!  Chris came up to New Hampshire the following weekend and the rest was history. Emily was “Schmitten” from the first time they met, and actually told her roommate’s mom “I think I met the love of my life!” 3 days after meeting Chris.

Why did you choose to get married at the location that you did?
Emily has vacationed in Ogunquit Maine every year since she has been born.  Chris proposed to Emily on the Marginal Way in Ogunquit because he knows its her favorite place!  We looked into getting married there but there was nothing large enough.. so we went to Kennebunkport and found our dream location- quintessential Maine town, large hotel for our friends and family to gather for the weekend, and most importantly overlooking the ocean! And now Kennebunkport is our new favorite place and forever vacation spot in Maine

Were there any happy surprises that happened at the wedding?
The band surprised us with how amazing they were!
We were super impressed and shocked with how great Mike read his poem during the ceremony.
Feeling the dance floor buckling but it NOT falling through!
Emily felt like a literal princess with how her hair and makeup turned out- she was nervous about it, but was soooo happy with how it looked

What moment sticks out to you above all of the others from the wedding?
New York New York was a super fun song, especially when everyone surrounded us and hugged us at the end!
Chris getting lifted in the chair was impressive!
The sunset photoshoot on the beach was really fun and beautiful.
Caitlyn’s speech at the rehearsal dinner was amazing.
Chris’ friends getting up and making speeches at the rehearsal dinner was really special.
The rehearsal dinner in general- ambiance, food, drinks.
The wedding coordinator pulled us into the grand dining room before the guests went in and we got to see everything perfect, all the details and little things we would have missed later, which was really nice!
